Puthenvelikkara is a town in the Paravur Taluk Ernakulam region of Kerala, India. The Chalakkudy River converges with the Periyar River at Elenthikara in the town of Puthenvelikkara. Puthenvelikkara is on the banks of the stream Periyar, Chalakudy and KottapuramKottapuram lagoon. It is a centre of agricultural production in the region with its many rice paddy fields
