CRC has recently begun primary discussions for collaboration with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Puthenvelikkara – newly recognised as a Seed Hub by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR), to conserve and develop this region’s local food seeds.
The project, also supported by Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi and Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI), Trivandrum, will have a special focus on expanding regional tuber crops.
CRC has already identified willing farmers, farm plots as well as agricultural resources for this project.
